About Our Speaker, Adam Roth
Adam David Roth is an accomplished teacher, speaker, researcher, and administrator with 17 years of
excellence in higher education, including 11 years as the director of three, interdisciplinary, academic
programs. He exudes a fervent commitment to communication education, coupled with a strong
entrepreneurial spirit and vision, and extensive experience in academic program management and
development, as well as alumni relations, fundraising, and donor discovery, cultivation, and stewardship.
Adam is currently serving as Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Director of the
Harrington School of Communication and Media at the University of Rhode Island. The Harrington
School has 1450 students and 63 full-time faculty in undergraduate and graduate programs in
Communication Studies, Public Relations, Film/Media, Journalism, Writing & Rhetoric, and Library and
Information Studies. Through an interdisciplinary approach to scholarship and teaching and a passion
for experiential learning, the Harrington School is a global leader in communication and media research
and education.
